Issue with engraving Curved Lines

I am new to laser engraving and am having an issue when trying to engrave a curved line. It leaves a stitching pattern along the line. For my project I am doing a fill paint on wood. I mask the wood with tape and cut out the design. I am using a line cut and then pealing the tape off instead of a fill cut. As you can see from the images where ever there is a curve it produces the stitching. I am not sure if it is an issue with my design in the software or if its a machine setting.

Notice on the images how the silver lines that are curved have the issue but the straight gold lines don’t have the issue.

Also, the gold triangle only has the issue at the bottom where there is a slight curve.
Any help would be appreciated!

Can you upload your cut file?

Steven, sure! Here it is.
Thanks!

Your design looks ok, nodes might be rationalized but it is not something that causes problems.
I think you may have a mechanical problem.

Try this one.
I ran it through the “Edit | Optimize selected shapes” and brought the point count down from a total of 419 to 196 points. Maybe that will help with the movement from point to point.

Other than that I don’t see anything wrong with the file.

Here is another file that is rebuilt to eliminate a lot of nodes.

I reached out to the manufacturer (omtech). So, time will tell.

I tried doing an offset fill cut instead of a line and it has the same issues on every part of the curved line.

I might try doing a standard fill. I’m thinking that will work without the issue. It seems to only effect the curved lines. Also, when the laser is cutting the curved area the laser is noticeably pulsing. Here is the image of the offset fill cut, it looks like tones of little dots.

What material / wood species are you engraving?

That sounds strange. Has your laser always made these marks at curves?
It will be very interesting what OMT reports back with. I don’t even have a qualified get what it is.

I am engraving mdf that is painted and covered with transfer paper (tape stencil). I then paint over top of the exposed cuts.
