Issue with how fonts are handled between Windows and Mac

I have a lightburn file that was created on a mac that has a “missing font error” when opened in windows 10.
The font is Hiragino Mincho ProN w3. The mac groups 2 Hiragino Mincho ProN styles (w3 &w6) together in font book while Windows classifies them as 2 separate fonts.
The mac version of Lightburn is labeling the font as " Hiragino Mincho ProN" & the Windows version labels it as “Hiragino Mincho ProN W3”.
This creates a situation where Lightburn running in windows reports a missing font even though it is installed on the windows OS.
I am fortunate that I have both OS’s and can work around the problem.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way to correct the problem?
I use this Lightburn file as a template and have to change the text for every job so I would like to be able to fix this without having to change the font style.
Any suggestions?
cheers,
Rob H.

I tried renaming the font in windows but that didn’t work, try renaming it on the mac to match windows if you can.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried to create a new font substitution key in the registry and as I expected, it didn’t work.
I fixed the problem this morning by opening the lbrn2 file in a text editor and changing the font. This fixed the problem for the Windows machine and now the mac is reporting the font as missing.

Sometimes you just can’t win :man_shrugging:
