Issue with Layers

I have run into a problem that I can’t seem to fix. I have a project with 6 layers. as shown here:

When trying to add text or any object to the layer “Front Panel Text” , the object I’m trying to add goes into layer C00. Tried cut/paste from C00 back to front panel text fill layer, but it still goes to C00.
Thinking I have a setting wrong, but can’t spot it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Developers… PLEASE add an eraser and scroll bars on work area. Would make life easier than using node adjustment.
Oh… also Use system clip board doesn’t work. I’m trying to copy text from a fill layer to a word document. Doesn’t fly.

When you have the object you’re trying to add to layer C00 selected, can you change it to the same color(09) as Front Panel Text by selecting the color from your palette? That is another way to assign an object to a layer, simply by changing the color.

You can add your vote to the eraser tool feature request here: An eraser tool · LightBurn

There are a few feature requests to choose from as far as scroll bars are concerned.

Have you enabled ‘Use System Clipboard’ in your settings?

Thanks Jess. When I closed and opened Lightburn, layer actions worked as expected.
Yes, I have use system clipboard enabled. I can copy from Word to Lightburn, but not from Lightburn to word. Tried a single selection and selecting by click-drag rectangle around the group.

I get the same issue, nothing to paste in Word 2010, Win 10.

Thanks Mike. Yup. can go from windows file into Lightburn, but not from Lightburn to a windows file.

Right-click on the text object and ‘Edit Text Shape’, then select and copy the text you need.
