Issues with Monport JL-F30W MOPA Fiber Laser

Good Morning! So, I have been attempting to work with Monport’s post-sale customer support and have gotten no where… I cannot for the life of me get the laser to properly mark on anything. I’ve narrowed it down to a configuration setting issue because they keep sending me config files for the right machine with the wrong lens… Last night, I went in and changed some settings to the field sizes, but I have no idea on the angle because they won’t provide that to me… I am attaching a screenshot of my current settings.

Machine: Monport JL-F30W Split MOPA Fiber Laser
Lens: F-Theta 1064nm f=254mm 254D20441
Host Computer: MacBook Air M2
Lightburn: 1.6.00

Fibre Galvo lasers have a very, very narrow focus threshold, try the following first and see if that helps

@Mooseuk is likely correct in that it’s a focus issue… It’s burnt me numerous times… Double check that… how are you focusing it?

What kind of source do you have?

Here is mine from an M60 JPT M7 MOPA… The delay defaults have been zeroed out, but yours are close to what mine were. I also load a cor file that sets up the lens correction. You should be able to do this Laser Tools → Calibrate Galvo Lens

This is depth of focus (field) and can be computed for your lenses.

I think my F254mm has a dof just under 5mm, whereas the F100mm has a 0.74mm dof.
