Ive had my D1 laser since Christmas, I use an iMac running OS Moneterey. I have had zero issues until 2 days ago. I opened Lightburn and turned on the laser but even though lightburn said “ready”, the laser would not move nor the laser would fire. I deleted the Xtool D1 profile then reloaded and was then able to move the laser via software, however, it will only allow me to move the laser so far in each direction by clicking directions. It will home and when I put in the center Coordinates ( x-216, y-203) it used to center. Now it will move to the front right corner instead of center. Is this a Mac issue? I haven’t had this problem before .
There’s a lot to unpack in what you’re saying.
- What is your startup procedure? Are you starting with the laser in back-left postion?
- You say -216,-203 was your center position? Generally LB doesn’t like working in a negative coordinate system. Does this mean that you started the laser at front-right?
- Did you use the xTool provided device configuration file or did you configure manually? Where did you set the machine Origin?
A full screenshot of LightBurn and one of Device Settings would be useful.
1- I always start with back left (home)
2- There is not any negative numbers, the - was for reference not a coordinate
3- I have used the xtool provided config file since I got the machine christmas
4- My current issue, since it is working for now, is that it won’t consistently center like it did before.
Okay. That clarifies a lot.
If that’s the case I don’t see why it would be behaving differently than what you had before. But let’s check a few things.
- Can you power cycle the laser with laser at home position. Then run these commands and in Console and copy results
$I
$$
$#
?
- If you jog the laser to as far front-right as possible then run
?
again, capture results.
Also, can you confirm whether or not you use LightBox software as well? Or just LightBurn exclusively?
