I good way to check belt tension. Example: set the belt tension on the Y axis. Then with the power off tilt the front of the machine up and the Y axis should smoothly slide from from front to back. If it slides and bangs the tension is too low. If it doesn’t slide the tension is too high. Then repeat for the X axis
