Hi, can I know this support for Industrial machine which has multiple axis. It would be greate if this be the official industrial software for laser project.
Lightburn is not 3D yet, so 6 axis is a long way off.
6 DOF for a laser? That sounds like something in a Robots Gone Wild movie.
Hi.
Welcome to the LB forum @Ikhwan .
I’m a BEng Mech, but I for one can’t think of any reason how the insanely high developement cost of a 6 DOF system could be justified.
Or how a feature like that would benefit a hobby laser community.
Even 3D is IMO pushing it.
In any case, if someone would want something like that (I know I sure would ), the system is built around an industrial robot arm, using its own controller and software.
Regards,
Sam
I’m working on something along these lines. Rhino + grasshopper being the core 3d stuff. Got the bones of the translation layer for my arms complete, and the weight of my JPT M8 is within spec for the arm. The chunky galvo head I have for the kw raycus is decidedly not! As for the actual laser control part, the galvodriver from meerk40t is the current best bet, as it supports the driver board and is written in python, allowing easy data passing back and forth.
I agree that it is exceptionally unlikely that lightburn will ever support such a configuration, as the 5 people in the world who want it are unlikely to want to pay the 6+ figures for it.
