Jogging versus continuos jog

So the Max travel of my Y axis is 530mm. If i enter this into the window for the distance to move and push the up arrow on the direction pad, the spindle moves 530mm. If I start at either O or 530mm position, and want to continuouis Jog along the Y axis, it will stop at a random position, it will not move the full length of the Y axis. even though continous is enabled.

UPDATE; if I zero Y axis and jog the axis it will move 530mm, If i want to jog from the 530 mm position back to the O position, it will not continouis jog.

So i think I figured it out…it coincides with the machine position, but how do I set the machine position??

what ever number you put in the distance box is how far it will move each time you click any of the arrows regardless of where your spindle/ router is on the table.

eg say your spindle is stopped at X100 Y 100 and you put 530 and you click the top arrow once, it would end up at Y630 not Y530, if you don’t have end stops at both ends the steppers will keep working until it thinks it has reached Y630, ive done it couple times by not realising i had clicked the 0 a second time so instead of a movement of 500 i put 5000 and the Y kept trying to run of the table

when continuous is enabled , it will keep moving until you take ur cursor of which ever arrow you are over

hope this helps

you did not tell me I did not already know
