JPT MOPA laser not connected after instal

I have LightBurn connected to a 50w laser. I tried to install a 100w JPT MOPA. It shows on my device list but it won’t connect. It shows disconnected as it’s status. Of course I rebooted, and yes I kept the USB cable on the entire time. I’ve seen many post like this but I haven’t seen an answer that worked yet.

Did you follow the install guide for the LB-specific drivers?

The vendor usually gives you the EZCAD drivers, they show up as “BJJCZ Device” on Devices and Drivers in Windows.

You must remove the EZCAD driver and install the LB-specific drivers, which willl
appear under Universal Serial Bus devices as “USBLMCV2” or “USBLMCV4”

It is easy to switch the driver back and forth if you want to use EZCAD again

I deleted the BJJCZ driver and reinstalled LightBurn. I followed the install directions and it reinstalled the BJJCZ driver. I saw no way to install USBLMCV2. When I powered up my laser I saw device manager reload and the BJJCZ driver was there only. My laser still shows up as disconnected. In the software provided by my laser manufacturer there is a LMCV2 file but I am not sure which is the driver or how to manually install that driver.

IIRC I got frustrated thinking I was following the LB driver install instructions, but actually I wasn’t. I think I hadn’t correctly removed the BJJCZ before installing LB.

But, whatever- use Zadig. I’ve used it before for other devices- it’s a tool that basically does what Windows SHOULD be able to do- it lets you pick a device and say “I don’t care what Windows thinks is the right driver, force this one.”

Thank you… I got it, but what a pain. Zadig would have made it easier!
