K40, C3D Laserboard, rotary, nema17, gear GT2 20t, same on the rod, roler 26 mm

HI, after 2week of strogulling to make that work…

here is my setup
i build a rotary from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3174149, but my roler is 26mm and not that big weel you see on the pic.
i try to make it work on K40, C3D Laserboard, rotary motor nema17 (came from Eleskmaket laser machine), gear GT2 20t on the motor and, same on the rod.
i configure the setting in LB for Rotary on A Axis, 26mm for roler, my object is 51mm that give me 160.221 of circonferance.
also i configure the config.txt to make the a axis working as per smootis recomandation and C3D recomandation. but all is working, roler …rol but i can get the 20mm by 20mm square i try to make, it elongate everithing … i will place a copy of my config.txt at the end…

i cant figure out what i need to ajust to make it right…
Can someone point me on the good direction to get this working ?
here is my config file…

You need to set the steps per rotation correctly. Since the pulley ration on your rotary is 1:1, the steps per rotation is the number of steps per revolution of the stepper motor multiplied by the number of microsteps. Do you know the step angle of the stepper motor? Typical step angles are 1.8° or 0.9°.

yes it is 1.8, as per elskmaker spec

Good. What about the micro stepping setting?

??? you mean in the config file?

That will depend on your system. Are you using external stepper motor drivers or the ones built into the C3D?

yes ok it’s a 1/16 it’s a C3D Laserboard with triaminic driver

the one on the board

Alright. 1.8 step angle is 200 steps per revolution. 200×16 is 3200. Put that value in LB for the steps per rotation and your engravings should stop elongating.

i dont have that option in my setting…
image

Oh, I see. The degrees per rotation is grayed out too. I apologize. I forget sometimes that the gcode controllers have different config options in LB. I’m afraid I’ll have to defer to the LB team on this one.

ok tks for your help

OK. I think I found it. 3200 steps per rotation, 360 degrees per rotation. 3200/360=8.8889 steps per degree. I don’t know if you can use fractional numbers here. I suspect not. Either way, this is the setting that you would need to adjust.

ho, that make sens… let me try this, and yes i can enter up to 3 digit after the point so 8.888

ho boy, no, it turn about 20 time the roller… not good…:frowning:

ok i fonf it, with your calculation i put that in the config file of the board under… and it work!!!
