K40 camera mounted on the lid when closed?

I’ve been toying with getting the official camera, but as we all know, the lid on the K40 just… well… is bad. I saw a video from “lasergod” and he has one mounted on the lid, through the plexiglass. Any drawbacks of doing this with the 160 degree camera?

The wide angle means the precision at the sides might be a little less, but with a K40, the work area is pretty small, so I doubt it would cause much trouble.

awesome, thanks!!!

I use a 160 degree camera mounted on the lid, BUT I did have to thermoform the lid to raise the camera up about 2 inches above the cover. it spans the work area pretty good.
