K40 not cutting in same place

I have been experiencing this issue for some time, but I did not care too much, until now. Whenever I cut a shape, once finished, the laser head goes back to the finished place: home (I believe this is normal) If some reason I need to do a 2nd pass because it did not completely cut, the 2nd pass will not cut in the same place. The cut is always some mm off. Even if after finished the first pass, I hit “home” to make sure it will cut in the same place, it does not. BTW, I am always using absolute coordinates.
If I run 3 passes in the same job, everything is perfect

This is an example engraving a simple shape: ellipse 2"x1" :

The common denominator here seems to be the Home cycle.

Look for a loose home switch, switch actuator, or possibly something interfering with it.

Thank you,

I will check the home swich and the wiring.

I checked both switches and they both look OK. Nothing is scratching them. Once I turn the machine, the homing process looks and sounds normal.

Also, if I read the output correctly, it’s off in the X axes only… so I’d limit my initial search to that axes.

Normally these hall switches work very well, so I’d expect some type of mechanical issue.
