K40 with mini grbl

I have a new 40w - k40 and I replaced the nano2 board with mini grbl so I could use lightburn. I start the laser and it rattles and tries to keeping homing? Any help would be appreciated! Are there certain commands I need to have to make this work? I also have a camera where do I put it so it will work right?

Thanks!

Just throw your $$ up here and I’ll compare them to my settings.

Thanks for your help! Sorry, I’m REALLY new at this. I don’t think I have any settings. If I do I don’t see them. Where would I find that?

Thanks!

Go to the console, type $$ and press enter, copy and paste the text it spits out back here.

If it’s rattling and won’t home, it means you have a limit switch wired incorrectly or not properly configured.

ok

Hi Anthony,
Compared to my settings, there are some settings differently. Try looking at my machine settings within Lightburn, do your settings look the same?, and, have you chosen the same Gerbil-STM?

did you fix the problem?

Thanks, I tried the settings - makes terrible noise when hit home. Replaced oem board with minigrbl. I checked cables all seated ok.

go to console press $$ and copy content and post it here

Grbl 1.1f [’$’ for help]

I don’t know if this will help…

sorry for the delay, try comparing your values with those from this image from device sættings. Do you have the same parameters? (+/- 20mm)

I have mounted my camera in the lid in the middle. But to be able to use the camera function, the lid must be opened so that the camera is straight in the center and always very accurately in the same position. Your test plate is very large I think, scale it down by at least 25% otherwise the calibration will be too cumbersome. Try to search here in the forum, there are some posts regarding this topic.

head in left rear - position shows -480???

ok I reversed the x/y leads. I was playing in the move section and it went opposite of where I wanted it - so I changed that. The 480 position was because the head moved to right lower bottom. I think I fixed that…

X=230 ($130)
Y=320 ($131)
…is that how it is set now?

I believe so, I haven’t messed with it yet…

Ok, I hit home and it went home without any loud noise. It also turned on the laser (test button) and started burning the cardboard I had down to do the camera cal.
