I’ve got my Langmuir MR-1 working great in MillMage. Tool touchoff works well, but the spindle probe (with the ruby sphere stylus) doesn’t have a probe config wizard in MM just yet.
The CutControl software that Langmuir provides is simply a GRBL controller. So, set the device type to GRBL and import prefs on load in Device Settings and off you go.
Used trochoidal tool path to cut a knockout for a thermostat box over the weekend. The benefit of this type of toolpath is reduced tool wear and reduced cutting forces, which on thin material and sketchy workholding helps a lot!
I used a little piece of aluminum DIN rail to space the panel off from the vise bottom
Cut quality right off the machine was excellent
And it fit the thermostat nicely!
Here’s my current bundle for anyone with a MR1 wanting to give it a try. My tool probe is mounted bottom left corner of the bed.
