Let me explain: I am trying to create an image with shading (a flower petal). I draw it in Affinity, with the shadows in grayscale gradients and the perimeter of the image in red. Once the petal is finished, I export it to JPG to preserve the grayscale gradient and make another export to SVG containing only the perimeter.
In LB, the origin of the work is set at the center.
First, I burn the shading using the image mode parameters I have previously determined. The shading turns out perfect.
I press “Go to Origin” to ensure it is in the exact spot.
Next, I load the SVG file containing the perimeter of the petal in red into LB. I burn the perimeter using the line parameters I have set for cutting.
To my surprise, the cut is the correct size but is slightly offset to the right and upward compared to the shading.
My machine is a Gemitsu CNC, and its movements are perfectly calibrated.
Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me?
What can I do to prevent the origin from shifting?
Is there any other way to shade and then cut an image?
Please use simple terms in your explanation—I am a beginner with very little experience.
