Laser 100% busy and will not move the laser

Is there a real fix for the issues with the connection and “laser 100% busy” ? even after laser is unpluged from the PC. the laser works fine with GRBL??? brand new to this, spent 1 1/2 day trying to conect and engraved 3 little test pannels now I can"t even get the laser to react with Lightburn, very frustrating.

90% of the communications issues are due to a super cheap USB cable, like the one they ship with the laser. Replace it with a quality one that has a ferrite suppressor (big knot) on it.

The other 10% is a missing CH340 driver, wrong USB port selected, too long of a USB cable, Device Type not set up properly, other software already has the port, and a few others I can’t remember. The fact that you did 3 test panels rules out these except the too long one and other software (reboot everything and only launch Lightburn).

The most common solution is to toggle the „enable DTR signal“ option in device settings.

I am thinking this is a works/ does not work option. I have never seen the DTR (Data Terminal Ready) signal allow it to work sometimes (“engraved 3 little test pannels”) and not others. But I could be wrong…

DTR did the trick.
