I know this is LB software talk, but I know many of you will know this answer. I remember that burning vs. cutting with the laser the laser it’s self needs to be adjusted (screwed in and out) for the different application. Can anyone tell me what they find as the best distance to screw in the laser for engraving on canvas?
For a laser to work, it must have a proper focus. You should ‘ramp test’ your machine to figure out what the proper focus distance is.
If you engrave, then the focal point should be the surface…
If you are cutting, then you can lower the laser 1/2 the material thickness to place the focal point in the ‘middle’ of the material to be cut. It depends on what you are doing…
A longer lens will give you a larger ‘depth of field’ were the laser will have the best power over a larger ‘focus’ distance.
