Laser alignment issue – Lightburn camera calibrated but still engraving way off

I’m having an issue with my laser engraver and the camera system in LightBurn. I’ve done a few test points using the laser fire tool (not actual engraving, just firing the laser at a specific location), and then used the GPS icon in LightBurn to move the laser back to those same spots using the camera overlay.

Here’s the problem: the actual engraving happens around 3-4 cm to the right and about 1.5 cm lower than the target point shown in the camera view.
Even though my coordinate system seems correct and the camera is properly calibrated — at the same height as my material — it’s still way off.

I tried using the Laser Offset Adjust settings in LightBurn, but that either doesn’t change anything or makes the misalignment even worse.

Has anyone else run into something similar? Could it be a camera alignment issue I’m missing, or is this something deeper in the LightBurn settings? Any help would be appreciated.

Hundreds of users. Search for “camera alignment” in this forum and you will find plenty of tips. Bottom line: if the overlay is not correct, do the alignment again. If it’s still incorrect, do it again. And so on.
Be aware that the calibration only works on the plane you are calibrating on, you may not change the workpiece height afterward.
