Laser burns out of size and acts strange

Dear Community, I am new to this and bought an Creality Falcon 2 40W. I already made some successful tests but now it starts to act weird and burns totally out of the design.

I tried to make a template for metal cards but first - the size is 5 mm off in length and as you see the writing totally strange.

Any idea?

That is how it does look engraved.

I tried alot and seems it get worse. Is there a way to test if the issue is the laser itself?

First thing i would do is change your settings from mm/sec to mm/min
Edit → settings

200mm/sec = 12000mm/min. if you have some belt tension issues (which I think you do) at those speeds it will get more noticable

Review also belt tension on all axis, and wiring, in case some wire is a bit loose on the connector
