Hi , I just downloaded the newest version of Lightburn. To be fair, it has been a few months since I have used the software. My problem is the laser turns on and stays on constantly. It did not happen with the previous version of Lightburn I was using.
I have the software open, everything is connected and on. I have been able to move the head around, so it is connected properly. I just cannot get the laser to turn off.
I am using a JTech diode with a Dell Windows 11 computer.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
Does the laser come on as soon as you turn the machine on? (Even if LightBurn is not running a job) or is it only when you start a job?
It comes on as soon as the machine is turned on and stays on at 100% power.
I did a bit of troubleshooting the G Code. The S=1000, 32=1, and 30=0, the recommended settings from the Lightburn YouTube video
It won’t be a gcode or LightBurn issue if it happens immediately and regardless of whether LightBurn is connected.
Does the Jtech laser module include a “Safety interface board”? Which model do you have?
And do you know if your machine is using a GRBL based controller board?
Once we know what model laser module you have I’m sure we can help you troubleshoot it, you may need to invert a control signal although it’s not something that would randomly change. It might be better for you to converse directly with J Tech: Contact Us at J Tech Photonics
I will see if I can find this information tonight.
Thanks
