Bonjour and a happy new year.

I have the following setup with a dual boot on the same laptop, same cutter, same material, same parameters, same usb cable, same power supply but with different results.

How can I make LightBurn cut the material when running Linux? Do you need any more information from me?

Bonjour and Happy New Year to you too. French greeting and Danish name?

Can you setup the same simple job on both and then save gcode on each system? Post results here please. You may need to rename the files to have a .txt extension to post here.

Please also export preferences for both systems File->Export Prefs and post here.

Hi Berain.

French greeting and Danish name?

Well. I felt like a change in the lingua franca a for a change. And if not a lingua franca should be… French then…

Anyway. Please find the files you requested attached to this post.

Thanks and best regards,
Morten

Godmorgen.

Had a chance to take a look. I think what’s happening is that on Linux the device setting is different for S-value max. Can you check that on Linux the value is set for 1000? I believe it’s 255 right now according to your preferences file.

Changing that to 1000 should give you the same performance between Windows and Linux systems.

Awww… That did the trick.

I had tried to edit the device setting via this entry

but that provided some other settings

I now cut just fine, thank you!

Thanks, Mate!

P.S.: Do you work for Lightburn or is it your just your altruistic call in life to respond to forums the moment you wake up?

double-Aww.

I didn’t notice your Danish reference. I am flattered!

I liked you idea of mixing things up a little. Thought I’d mix things up a bit. When I spent some time in Stockholm there was a restaurant there called Jensens Bøfhus that the Swedes insisted was “authentic” Danish food. I couldn’t tell if they themselves believed it or if they were teasing me… or maybe teasing Danes.

Haha. I’m just a regular looking to save the world. One laser at a time.

Ciao
