Machine is basically a k40 with a Minigrbl v1.1revB controller. Running the latest version of Lightburn.
Haven’t used the laser in a bit, installed software on new laptop and connected to laser. When moving between “Cut” lines everything is fine, it turns off and moves properly. When using frame everything is fine. When using fill the laser doesn’t turn off all the way between fill segments, so the fill part is engraved deep and the travel part is engraved at a lesser power (almost like it doesn’t know what off is).
Using Gerbil-STM as the docs say to use.

It all worked fine 2 years ago, which is the last time I actually used the machine, and I’ve been told it was fine on the old laptop (which unfortunately died and I didn’t make a backup).
PS: Is there a way to do a “Full backup” somehow, or do you have to export all your settings and material libraries one at a time and back them up that way?
If you can extract the hard drive / SSD and stick it in a USB adapter, you can manually fetch the LightBurn config / devices / suchlike files. Find them on the new machine to get a hint of where they might be on the old disk.
Make a backup of the current settings, then copy those files to the new installation.
Once you get them settled in place, then make a complete backup using the Migrate operation.
Figured it out, it was a combination of wrong controller type and a loose wire on my PWM pin. Re-selected the STL version of GRBL and soldered the wire in place and everything is now working.
