Laser flickering on and off when moving along the X-axis

Unfortunately having issues with my Roly Lasermatic mk2 10/20w laser. The laser flickers when moving along the X-axis, even when just firing the laser in light burn and moving it back and forth. The laser seems to flicker off and back on in relatively the same place.

I regularly clean and oil it, but deep cleaned it again to try to solve the issue with no success. Tried messing with the tension on the x-axis belt as well, nothing worked or seemed to help. All connections seem to be solid. I did notice a bit of wear on one of the cables that runs under and to the laser unit, but I’m not sure if it would cause an issue like this, I would assume it would be more spotty and random.

Any ideas? I have a support call with Roly Monday morning but have customers that need orders finished and was hoping to solve it sooner.

If your laser powers on and off without software command, then you have a cable break.
You can try to find the place where it happens most frequently, turn on your laser and push/touch the cables in the cable channel, if my theory is correct then you should be able to see the same behavior this way. (it could also be a loose/defective connector on your laser head)

Use the Fire button set to 0.2% power. Put something non-reflective under it for safety.
