Laser Going Left and Right

A screenshot of your entire Lightburn screen including the Cuts/Layers panel and a picture of the results you are currently getting would be very helpful.

Is there anyway to edit text on an image after it has been traced?

No, once it has been traced it is converted to a vector graphic and is no longer text. The only thing you could do here is delete the text portion and place new text in it’s place.

This is not a very good tracing, probably from a low quality jpg. You cannot get a nice trace if you don’t have a good quality graphic to start with.

I would get with the client and see if they can provide a better quality graphic to work with. Preferably one that is already a vector.

Hi Tim,

So I deleted the text portion from the graphic and added new text.
However, when I engrave the words still come out very blurry (see below).
Is there something in the settings causing this? Should I have the graphic as “Fill” and the text as “Line”? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like you have play in your machine. Probably a loose set screw at the motor, but it could be a loose belt or something else. Follow the procedures in this guide. It’s written for Sculpfun but most machines are very similar.

In order to pin down the mechanical troubles pointed out by @thelmuth, scale this test pattern to fit the platform and run it as fast as it will go in Line mode with optimizations turned off and power set to mark cardboard:

GrundTest.lbrn2

Any distortion in the results on the cardboard indicates a mechanical problem.

When it runs correctly on cardboard, then start making good hat patches!
