Laser going too fast? Slowing down acc. doesn't seem to help

Hello, I hope I can get sane by getting some inputs here cause atm I’m abit lost.

  • I have a OLM3, running Lightburn

I’ve noticed when starting up to cut / write text / pretty much anything, then in the start it’s out of place. It starts at the wrong location and I can’t seem to grasp what it might be.

I’ve done circles and the only good circle is when I’ve framed it and already there on the spot. I’ve lowered the speed so much in my opinion that it should be alright but perhaps I’m wrong? Or is there settings I’ve missed perhaps?

Here’s the settings around 120/121 etc… but I just have a feeling it’s something else.

Anyone have any ideas that I can try?

This looks like a mechanical issue. Check pinion gears, especially on X axis. They need to be properly secured to the stepper shaft. Make sure the grub screw is firmly against the flat of the shaft. Tension all other screws after the first one against the flat.

Check belt tension while you’re there.

Physically check set screws with an allen wrench. Looking at them is not good enough. Also make sure laser head is not loose.

Well, I gotta say you are solid and you were right

I found a loose wheel and that made the rubber band to go bad (see pic). I also lose / re-tight and overall felt on the screws with the allen.

Thanks alot!

Pictures for info on what was wrong <3
