Laser head moves very slow before and after job

I have a omtech 100w machine with ruida controller.
I’m having difficulty with the laser movement between items.
Like doing a production run of smaller ornaments.
The Movement before it begins to cut, moving between the different areas is slow, and the return to start position as well.
Framing and toggle movements are fine I make those adjustments either on the controller or in the move category on Lightburn.
It does not seem to be a “White Space” issue. Unless i’m confused as to what the white space means.
How can i increase this speed? its got to be something easy that i’m just overlooking.
I’ll try and post some pictures/ video.

Thanks friends.

What’s the history of this laser? Has it always done this or this is a new development?

Have you changed any machine configurations?

I have had the machine for almost 2 years. I do switch back and fourth from using a 4 wheel rotary. and using a 60 w machine as well.
new upgraded air assist, 5202 chiller, running both the 100 w and the 60 w. new air extraction.

It has not always done this. That’s why i think its something easy. Unless it has something to do with the new update. currently cunning 1.4.01.

Hope that gives you more info. Still trying to post a pic/ video.

Unfortunately it will not let me upload a video.
The toggle speed is set to 110 mm/s
Frame speed 200 mm/s
Run speed. 18 mm/s

Go to Edit->Machine Settings and check Idle Speed and Idle Acceleration. What are those set to?

Looks like 20 to me.
(I’m running 300 with no trouble)

Are you talking on the idle speed?

yep that was it. Not sure how it was changed. but i put it to 200 speed instead of 20. and that fixed me right up. Thanks

I believe that’s what @berainlb was referring to.
I just jumped up and checked mine to see, and I’m running 300mm/s.
You might adjust yours and see if things are running along any faster.
Let us know here.

(The term “idle speed” doesn’t really make much sense to me.)

It’s certainly cryptic. I think the ‘idle’ in this case is referring to the time when not performing a laser operation, as-in the laser is not actively on.

Sure, it’s a Chinese translation… what person in their right mind would think wind was air assist…?

Add to that they read right to left… found out early with their equipment, when you have X, Y, Z connector and it’s actually Z, Y, X… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I know I’ve changed how fast it moves from the control panel.
