Need some advice please. I am doing an engraving and start off by setting my laser height above the workpiece using the Aluminium cylinder (Sainsmart 5.5W laser). But as soon as I hit start, the laser lifts by 3mm which obviously stuffs up the focus. I looked at the Gcode and found that a G0 Z3, command is included at the top of the Gcode. I do have my Z-Axis enabled as I vary my Z-height when I do a cut, but in my cutlayer for the engraving the Z -step per pass is set to zero. What would cause the G0 Z3 command to be insereted in the Gcode. I use Lightburn for the design. Thanks
Do you have something in the z offset in the cut settings, right above z-step per pass? Or possibly a material height configured?

Check see if you have material thickness set.

Thanks to everyone. the problem was sorted by enabling “Relative Z move only” in the Devioce settings.
