Laser is not switching on even though the programming is running

I’m real newbi. I have fitted a new Laser Tree LT-80w-AA pro to my 3018 pro. It was working ok yesterday …with a few problems. However to day it won’t accept the $$ comands and tells me the GRBL ‘$’ System Command was not recognised. Any ideas gratefully accepted. Many thanks.

Can you upload picture of your console with $$ and response?

Unfortunately no. I’ve had a few goes at it but as yet I haven’t succeeded. I’ve managed to get the x/y direction mobile and although it is following the design I still don’t have a Laser. What is not switched on? Many thanks.

Can you control the 3018 with Candle?
Does the 3018 power supply have enough Amps for the LT-80W

Thanks for the reply. I’ve switched over to Candle but the result is the same. The the program runs, the laser follows the pattern but there is just no laser light.

Not meant to run the laser witn Candle, just to check correct moves.
Could you check GRBL settings with Candle? or LaserGRBL?

Will do. Many thanks.

No progress. Still the same results. The laser is following the project path but the laser is not switching on.

Check wiring and conections between controller and laser head.

Thanks for your support. The problem appears to be that I don’t have a connection between the driver adaptor and the 3018pro mother board. I need a connecting cable. Could you advise me as to where I might purchase a cable to fit and what what sockets I need to connect to? Many thanks for your help and patience.

Sorry, I don’t have any resources for that. Perhaps someone else does.
