Doing prints on eleksmaker A3 pro with this laser module attached 450nm 5W Laser Engraving Module Blue Light With TTL Modulation Sale - Banggood USA
I initially thought there was an issue with Lightburn but tried a print from Laser GBRL and after approx 15 minutes lasering there was a stutter for a few seconds and the laser just did some miniscule movements in the same area and then continued on the correct path, after a further 5 minutes the laser again stuttered but this time when continuing it was on a totally different path to the original line. I thought it may have something to do with the buffering between my laptop and the controller, but my laptop although old is a Toshiba Satellite C660 which is a pentium P6200 processor @ 2.1ghz. No graphics card and 2gb ram. Is this a common occurrence? Any ideas to help or things I should try out. Thanks in advance
It sounds like you’re trying to go too quickly which is causing stuttering and missed steps. What speed setting (please be specific about units) were you using?
Until your’e comfortable with how the machine is behaving I suggest keeping your speeds in the 500 mm/min range.
Currently using 200mm/sec and 300mm/sec and still having same issue. It is happening on Lightburn and Laser GBRL. Could it be possible that I have to update firmware to something else
You may have missed it in my previous reply but your speeds are far too high.
200 mm/sec = 12000 mm/min
300 mm/sec = 18000 mm/min
My suggestion was to reduce to 500 mm/min. This would be around 8 mm/sec.
Try lowering your speed and report back.
Hi there, yes did not take into consideration the difference betwenn mm/sec and mm/min
Will try out at lower speed and revert back.
Thank for the guidance so far
