Laser only turns on with first layer

Hey I run a snapmaker artisan and everything works fine except if I add multiple objects / layers to my project. The laser moves to all layers properly but only turns on the laser at the first layer.

There is a quick test you could do - but not sure it would work

Edit > Device settings
Gcode Tab
Toggle on Emit S value with Every G1 command

Then try again engraving pelase.

Also make sure you are on GRBL - and not GRBL LPC
