Hi. New to lightburn but 25+ years experience with galvo lasers. My new galvo fiber laser keeps moving 0,0 both in X and Y. This is a real pain since we set up programs and tooling to produce properly aligned and placed marks. It is happening almost daily now. Are there settings in Lightburn that I am missing that fix an origin point so it doesn’t move?
You can offset the X/Y home position in the Device Settings window, but those values default to 0 (no offset) for both, and will never change on their own.
If you’re seeing frequent drift without adjusting those settings, this is almost certainly a hardware issue.
If you notice when you step through the setup it advises you as to it’s origin. If you missed it, you can edit your current one, clicking next will keep values unchanged or when you get the summary page, click cancel. This is the last page of the new device setup.
Not knowing what you are doing, not sure it this help you or not.
Thanks for the response. The offsets are set to 0 in both axes. That hasn’t changed. The issue is that 0,0 keeps moving around without us doing anything other than powering the system on.
The problem isn’t where the origin is, the problem is that 0,0 keeps moving around without any inputs from us. We power on in the morning and 0,0 has moved a half inch in x or y for no reason.
