I have an ortur lm2 pro se
I use the laser pointer tool to align my projects and then use the frame option to make sure all is well.
i have had a problem doing this since I updated my software to version 1.4.05.
When I align up my project using the laser pointer tool and then frame my project the frame is completely different/off from the positions I got using the laser pointer tool.
I have reset my laser several times and closed/opened lightburn several times as well.
Can you please help resolve my problem?
Thanks,
Tom

You have a bit old firmware you need to address
$RST=*
in console and press enter
once it says MSG: Restoring defaults
Tap reset button
https://ortur.tech/firmware/OLM_Series/OLM2_PRO_S2_Firmware_Release_1.91.zip
Download and update with these file
Also if you can
Edit → device settings. SEnd a screenshot
FULL Screenshot of your lightburn as well so maybe we can spot somehting
make sure rotary is not on
I’m not sure if this is what you want? You said to hit the “reset” I don’t know where that is?
The only reset button know of is on the lase itself so I hit that one?
Hit the reset button yes
Once all that is done and firmware updated, try running this on a bit of cardboard
Dot Test with Angle.lbrn (46.3 KB)
Definitly you have a massive issue hardware wise somewhere
Can you recheck belts and cables?
GO over everything and take pictures if you want a 2nd eye on them
I am 79 years old and know next to nothing about all of this but I will try my best.
i would sugest the following, from order of probabilities
a) take a few picture of your belts and upload here
Maybe thats all it takes
b) when you power on machine and it runs to front/left, does it do a good homing or a heck of a noise and grinds?
I checked all my belts and although they seemed ok I tightened then anyway.
Last week when the unit tried to go to home position it it growled and made a lot of noise but has been ok thus far
Visual guide on belt tension
hard to describe whats “tight” and isnt in words
they look find actually
So i can only imagine is something in the X (left and right)
or a cable that maybe is a little loose and as machine moves gives you a bad contact
I did everything that you told me to do and did another test.It came out [erfect!
I also tried the laser pointer tool and frame functions and they also work correctly !
Thank you, thank ,thank you so very very much!
Tom
Great news!

Happy Engravings
