check your lens you could have a cracked lens. It is happened to me before I was working fine and then could not get a decent cut and it was because the liens need cleaning or was cracked. It happens.

I don’t know why so many people have this set to 1000 by default. I have a 5.5W laser and this value needs to be set to 10000, for me. That’s ten thousand not one thousand. You should give it a try.
My Laser engraver also has a spindle for CNCing. That setting is in the board as 10000 for the CNC spindle max rpm. Instead of changing it whenever I use the laser module I just change it in LightBurn software to match, 10000.
It’s very unlikely that you need a value other than 255 or 1000. Not saying it isn’t possible, but very unlikely for the majority of diode machines out there. The vast majority use 1000.
