Laser power seems to ramp up as it moves across the x axis when engraving

Thanks in advance for the help!

So I’ve had a Laguna 150w for about a year now and after working with their tech support we still don’t have an answer. We’ve replaced the tube and power supply and it still happens when using both Lightburn and RDworks. So here is what’s going on:

We engrave graphics on the boxes we make and I noticed that when the laser was on for longer as it moved across the x axis it started burning a lot deeper creating a “u” in engraving depth across the line as it ramped up in power moving from left to right and right to left. So I created a test file that was basically a cross and ran it with the following results:

As you can see when the laser is on for a short amount of time when engraving the vertical bar it doesn’t get up to full power and when it is on for longer across the horizontal bar it engraves much deeper. Creating a shelf in the engraving. This really becomes an issue when doing some of our graphics and I feel like I’ve tried everything! So any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

I don’t know if I can help, but you can measure the pwm generated by the controller and see if it goes up as it progresses… I doubt it…

It would almost have to be an lps or tube…

Since you changed them out… the only remaining thing I can suggest is to measure it while it’s running and see if you have an issue with the Ruida…

Good luck
