My laser keeps shutting off during the burning process. I dont know if this is because the latest update or what. Its doing it on 2 different computers and i have all the battery and screen settings on never. In lightburn it still shows the job as running. Please help.
Hi Jimmy,
Sounding a lot like a power delivery issue
Try this, reach for your laser head, unplug its cable
Now run the very same project that been failing - and leave the laser head unplugged.
This means there will be no lasing, but motions should go through.
This test will have two results - and I recommend running it a few times
a) if laser moves and finishes always without errors - this means your power adapter might be failing or failed and needs replacement
b) if you still get alarm 3 errors, you have a potential electronical noise induction in your cable and
- you can try the test elsewhere in the house to validate
- you might need to upgrade the usb cable
- you might need to find the cause of the noise. Can be an applicance starting and stopping for example
Thank you for your response, i will give this a try and let you know the results. Thank uou so much.
I think you hit it on the head. I unplugged my laser as you said and ran it. It isnt stopping now. I have the Yorahome 96 watt laser. I previously tried to keep the cables seperated so i dont know how much more i can do in that sense. I attached a picture. Thank you for your wisdom on this. How do you think i should proceed from here?
What is the power output rating of the Power adapter.
Check the Label the output side
Also what power is the Laser module?
If the laser does not stop when laser head is unplugged, I believe is more of a power delivery issue.
You could double check by plugging laser, running the same job at 1% power.
Im attaching some picture. Thank you for your help. This has been a difficult process. I recieved two different boards with the laser when i got it. Im not sure if this is part of the issue or not. Only one is currently hooked up and instructions werent clear unfortunately.
Slightly confused on 2 things
Your laser modele says 24v 4amps required
The 2nd board says 12v Input.
So I am wondering if you are trying to drive the laser with a 12v power adapter
What is the power adapter Label output?
Youre definitely on to something i believe. So with the laser, it doesnt plug into the controller, the laser plugs directly into an outlet.
Then there’s a second power adapter that is 12v that plugs into the controller
Could running the 24v too close to the controller cause issues?
