Laser starting point

So, I upgraded from xtool D1 to D1 Pro and using Lightburn. The D1 showed a red cross-hair to line up the starting point of the laser with the work piece. The D1 Pro, with a 1064nm Infrared Laser Module does not have the cross-hair.
I want to to start etching exactly at the point the laser is currently positioned when I test fire it. It frames just perfect, however, when starting the laser it always starts off out of the frame by about 1/2 inch to the left even with the job origin set to “center” and “current” position.
Spent the last 2 hours looking for videos and information to correct this, without much success. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Because you likely still have a pointer offset configured in Edit->Device Settings. Disable that if you don’t have a visible red laser pointer.

However, I thought the IR laser did also have a red pointer…

Super, that did it. Now I just have to remember to turn this setting back on when I switch to the diode laser. Yes, the IR has a red dot, but having the offset turned on for the diode laser made it start at the offset position - or + the value (-16mm in my case). Thanks for helping me out.

Glad to help.

A bit confused about the red dot for the IR laser. Is the offset on the IR laser for the red dot a different amount than the blue laser? If so, you should be able to adjust the offset appropriately to accommodate rather than turning off entirely.

Good point. Apparently it is is, but I will look into this a little more. For now turning it off helps me.
