Laser stopped firing, laser only drawin in top right

Im very new to lasers and have just set up an extension kit (920x900mm) on my sculpfun pro max. Everything was working fine, however was having some problems with the tension on the belt on the x-axis. I tightened the x axis and all of a sudden my laser stopped firing although the light still comes on and machine will draw as normal. It has also started to draw everything in the top right hand corner although origin point is set to bottom left and can identify home position correctly.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Before, you used the small version of the laser? I highly recommend getting used to the small setup because the extension kit adds many external factors that influence the result. Plenty of mechanical issues can arise using the long belts and stuff.

Which light still comes up? Does the fan of the module still turn? Did you change any settings in LightBurn and firmware? For reference: Workspace extension kit - Diode Laser Wiki

Thank you for your reply!

I have been using the small frame for about 3 months.i have now managed to sort out the origin problem. It is just the laser.

The laser light (blue light) comes on and the fan is running, it seems to have just lost power.

I have my speed at 900 and power max at 70… however it is not even marking the wood at all.

I have cleaned the lens, reset laser burn to factory settings and ensured i have set up the parameters of the work space correctly ect.

But there is some light coming out of the laser module? Or is just the LED on top lighting up?

the blue light is coming out of the laser module

If you point the module to a wall a few meters away, what does the shape look like? You can see how that shape should look like on this page: Guide to mechanical adjustments and maintenance

It looks pretty similar to what its supposed to. Its a circle shqpe

If it is a Pro Max laser, as you wrote in the beginning, it should be four lines. Or is it the 5W module?

This is the one i have. Oh, yes youre correct. Mine isnt four lines. So now i need to attempt to unblock the laser of possible dirt or possibly i have a cracked lens?

First, I’d try to remove the air assist nozzle (and maybe the lens as well), and do the test again. If the image is still the same, then it’s neither the nozzle or lens blocking the beam. Then the module might be broken.

I swapped out the lens and it now works. Thank you for your help!
