Laser stops firing in the bottom left area of the work

Hi everyone.

Context
I was running jobs without any issue, graving and cutting fine until it started to skip zones (see video attached). Maybe a minor thing but every time I need to engrave or cut, I need to enter the m8 code into the console or the air pump won’t work and the fire laser won’t be shown.

The problem started in the bottom left corner but right now is until the half of the job (vertical and horizontal).

What I did so fat?

• Clean up from dust belts and tight screws.

• Changed the lens for a brand new one.

• Double check wires if some of them are damaged, everything seems OK.

• Unplug and plug again connectors. They look OK.

• Tried on multiple times with different designs.

What could it be?

This is the cause in 99% of all cases. Optical inspection won’t help. The wires are broken internally. You can test by firing the laser and then wiggling the cable to check if it stays on.

Make sure to properly fix the cable next time (after you replaced or repaired it). It’s mandatory.

You’re right. It’s the laser wire, I moved it sightly and the connector it’s broken internally.

Any idea where to buy a set of wires?

Here: Sculpfun S10/S30/S30 Pro /S30 Ultra Series / XY extension axis termina – sculpfun
Though, it’s usually enough to exchange the connector. It’s a JST XH 2.54 3-pin connector. If you know someone that can fit such a connector to that cable, it’s a $1 and 5 minute repair :slight_smile:

You can usually fix by removing pin out of connector and closing gap slightly.

Hi again. Quick question:

Should this connector has 3 or 4 terminals (the wire tip) into the four pins? I can see only 3.

Three is correct.

@misken I adjusted the metal in the pins. That’s all. I hadn’t to change anything, however, I requested an extra wire set just because.
