I’m facing an issue with my Atomstack 1064 fiber laser. During engraving, the laser suddenly stops working after completing just a few lines. Interestingly, if I move the material slightly and restart the process, it works again, but then stops after engraving a few more lines.
Steps I’ve already taken to troubleshoot:
Tried using different materials (including non-smoky ones) – same issue occurs.
Verified my software settings in LaserGRBL and LightBurn.
Updated the firmware and drivers (CH340) to the latest versions.
Checked the USB connection and cable integrity.
Cleaned the machine and ensured it’s on a stable surface.
Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Could this be related to a safety sensor or overheating mechanism? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or knows a fix?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
I use Lightburn 1.7.03 on a 22 watt Falcon 2 diode laser. I have also experienced the same issue.
I have found that my laptop goes into sleep mode after 15 min and disconnects the USB port.
If the cut consists of many items, it would appear that there is a buffer problem. I then split the cut into smaller portions and the problem was solved.
I resolved the issue with my Atomstack 1064 fiber laser stopping during engraving in LightBurn. The problem was that the GRBL parameter $32 (Laser Mode) was set to 0 (off), which caused the laser to behave incorrectly.
To fix it, I simply enabled Laser Mode by setting $32 to 1 in the LightBurn settings. After this change, the laser works perfectly without interruptions.
