Laser Tree keeps stopping mid cut

I know this is like beating a dead horse…. Laser Tree AT-80W-AA AND Laser Tree AT-80W-AA Pro both run good for several runs. Then they start ending mid cut. Checked the temp and both are always cool. Not a overheat I don’t think. Stop the project, home it. start it back, and usually 30-35 seconds in it stops. Running them on a Ortue LaserMaster Pro 2. I’ve taken them down, cleaned them, and it doesn’t help. Meanwhile, my Ortur laser is over there running with no issues.

This is typically a USB communication glitch, which is regrettably so common as to have plenty of discussion:

Of particular note, long USB cables don’t work at all:

Very possible. I’m having a lot of issues with my laptop loosing USB connections. Lightburn usually won’t respond unless I shut the computer down and restart. AGGRAVATING. Especially in the middle of the of something

LightBurn depends on Windows to manage the USB connection. If that’s flaky, for whatever reason, LightBurn doesn’t really have much recourse: if it’s in the middle of a conversation and the phone hangs up (or just vanishes), there’s not much they can do.

Bonus: Because Windows can reassign the COM port numbers at any time, LightBurn may be in the middle of a conversation that will never resume.

Bottom line: you gotta fix the USB connection before LightBurn can use it.
