my laser just will not cut thru its like it is stuck on low power
If you’re used to operating in mm/s units, but have inadvertently switched LightBurn to in/s instead, the laser head will be moving much faster than it used to. Check Edit → Settings just in case.
Many machine issues can cause this, but the most likely will be:
- Mirrors & lens dirt / damage
- Mirror alignment
With those verified, the problems get more expensive:
- Tube degrading due to age / usage
- Tube no longer operating in TEM00 mode
- Power supply degrading
