Laser will not fire on any other computer but one

I have a Chinese 6040 laser engraver and is working well on my desktop computer, when I tried to sell the laser it would not fire the laser on there computer I tried on a further 3 laptops but the same thing happened, I have the basic license for lightburn and the laser will will run and do everything but it won’t fire.

If you were able to install LightBurn on another computer and you have not exceeded your 3 computer license, then you can export your machine profile to the new computer and it should work. However, please note that the license is tied to you and your email address, i.e. you cannot resell your license.

On my laptop it used to work no problem, when I sold it he used his own laptop with his license and it didn’t work, it did everything but fire the laser, I’ve checked the settings on my desktop with those on my laptop and there the same, can’t understand why it doesn’t fire the laser.

Maybe it could have been a safety interlock or something preventing the laser turn on.

Have you exported/imported the working machine settings from the old computer to the new one?
It doesn’t have to be a software problem, …water cooling protection, door lock…?

Setting are the same, unless it’s being identified as a rudia controller ! Not sure if that would cause this issue.

You do not answer if you have tried to import the machine profile from Computer A to Computer B.

The laser works fine from my desktop computer, i didn’t export the settings the computer read them from the monport board and are exactly the same as my desktop, also this happens on two other computers.

As @bernd.dk said you have to go to menu File > Bundles > Export Bundle click None at bottom then select Settings and your Device and export.


Then File > Bundles > Import Bundle into the other PC.

mmm, I’m a little curious, on how many computers have you installed the one license? Have you released the license on at least one of the 3 laptops?

Does $$ on the other computer give the same feedback?

The other laptops belonged to others using lightburn, and yes same settings it likes my desktop computer and refuses to work on any other computer.

… and then people say laser machines have no feelings … :persevere:

I have been working with up to 5 computer sometimes to test on different OS, even though I cancel individual computer and re -register them for Lightburn, I haven’t come across this problem.
I assume that your problem is something very simply overlooked detail.

Tried on a friends laptop that he uses on his laser with a rudia controller didn’t work same problem, the guy that was going to buy my laser and was using a diode laser with lightburn but the same problem on his laptop, this laser used to work on my laptop but now doesn’t, I think the problem is with lightburn.
