Laser will not start a job. Alarm:2

This is the error message I’m getting.
ALARM:2

G-code motion target exceeds machine travel. Machine position safely retained. Alarm may be unlocked. (Right-click the ‘Devices’ button to reset the connection)

On or near line 6:

Job halted

I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. The machine is on, I can move the head around with the controls, I can “fire” the laser. But whenever I try to start a burn or use the frame command I get the above error.
Any help would be helpful. This is my first laser of this type.

A couple questions:

  • What kind of machine?
  • Does it have limit switches and homing enabled?
  • What ‘Start from’ setting are you using?

Sorry it is the Ortur M2 yes it has limit switches. I’m not sure what Start From settings means.
