Laser window not popping up

Good day, I recently purchased the sculpfun s6pro I got it to produce once about a week ago now today when I set up the program all the windows seem to pop up EXCEPT the laser window to control the machine, what I am I missing or doing wrong, also I try using the homing button and it tells me “ homing cycle not enable in GRBL settings “ is this something I’ll have to do every time? As you can tell I am very new to this hobby.

Try going up to “window” at top and reset to default settings. Are you using a laptop? Do you have limit switches on machine. If so go to your console and type in $$ then enter. Check to see if $22=1

Homing Cycle Not Enabled is an error that stems from how your firmware is set up on your laser. Does your laser have limit switches - I don’t believe the S6 pro does from the factory, which means if you enabled ‘Auto-home on startup’ during LightBurn’s device setup, that error would be produced.

You can disable homing on startup by going to ‘Edit > Device Settings’ and disabling the switch on the right hand side of the window, as below.

With that all said and done, how do you “Home” your machine?

  1. With power off, move the laser head to the front left corner. This will be the last time you move the laser head by hand.
  2. Power up the laser. (If you get an alarm, enter $X in the Console Window.)
  3. In the Move window, click on the Set Origin button. You are now Homed.

Until you get comfortable with the coordinate systems, choose Start From: Absolute Coords in the Laser window.

You should now be good to go
