I’ve previously used Lightburn for my Xtool laser. In addition I now have an OMtech 646 laser. I’ve downloaded the Ruida drivers and ran a small test piece on the OMtech. The laser head moves to the shape of the test piece but the laser does not fire up. The laser does fire up when hitting the pulse button so it does work. I’ve done no setting up on Lightburn for the OMtech other than what was prompted downloading Ruida. Do I need to do more setting up and if so how please and how would I separate this setting from the Xtool settings please?
Which fire button are you referring? There is a pulse on the Ruida console and a test on the lps… The lps button causes it to lase, irrelevant of any associated controller or even connection… all that’s required with this button is mains power.
You can measure both L-PWM1 and L-On1 on the Ruida to see if they are operating correctly and point towards the lps or the controller.
Do you have a voltmeter?
If this is new, I’d send a note to your vendor… if we can help you fix it that’d be great, but a note to them lets them know it isn’t working properly. Most of these support comes from China, so it’s a 24hr turn around time for email.
Thanks, I’ll investigate and get back to you
Ok with the 6 pin connector removed the ammeter is showing 09mA and the laser colour is a light pink.
I am also talking to OMtech helpline but thought this might be a software problem?
I doubt it’s a setting, unless OMTech never tested it.
