Laser won't cut correct measurement

Hello

I’m pretty new to the lasering world, and was hoping someone might be able to help me. I have an xtool D1 Pro 20 Watt and Im trying to just cut out a rectangle measuring 7 x 12 inches, and when I frame up the work it wants to cut 9 x 12. There is nothing else on the screen but the rectangle. It was working fine till this, it will not read my measurements correctly now???

Do you possibly have rotary enabled in LightBurn? If so, disable it.

No rotary enabled.

How did you create the device? Did you use the .lbdev file provided by xTool to create the device?

And are you using the red crosshairs or the primary laser as your reference point?

I used the file provided by xtool to create the device and using the red crosshairs as my reference point. When framing i want to cut 7 x 12 it wants to cut 9 x 12. I’ve tried opening a new file and creating a new rectangle and it won’t cut it to the correct meassurement.

In lightburn draw a square and make it 2 inches x 2 inches. Run the laser then take measurements on the engraved or cut 2 inch square.

Confirm that you get the same behavior in XCS.

Your stated symptoms are very odd as xTool do not allow for any configuration changes that should impact what you’re seeing.

Take a full screenshot of LightBurn with your design loaded and a photo of the resulting burn.

Thank you everyone, I have since been able to figure it out

What was the issue?
