Laser won't start/move to startposition something GRBL locked?

laser won’t start/move to startposition something with GRBL locked???
How to unlock? didn’t do anything different from last time using it
After pressing PLAY it blocks, then STOP and get this message:
ALARM:3

Opnieuw instellen terwijl u in beweging bent. Grbl kan positie niet garanderen. Verloren stappen zijn waarschijnlijk. Herplaatsing wordt sterk aanbevolen.

in English:
Reset while you’re on the move. Grbl cannot guarantee position. Lost steps are likely. Relocation is highly recommended.

What model of laser do you have?

Can you copy and paste the rest of the output to your Console window? There are a few possible causes for this, and surrounding text might give us more information.

Can you also save and share your GCode so we can take a look? You’ll need to change the extension to .txt in order to upload it here.

The laser fixes itself in the left down corner but is not moving at all. Before it moved from down left to wherever I have sent it…Normally closed the machine down and now it doesn’t do any movement???

When you say your laser fixes itself in the bottom left corner, do you mean it’s homing itself? I don’t believe your model of laser has limit switches, and if not, it won’t be homing properly, which could cause the issue you’re seeing. If it’s homing, are you hearing a grinding noise when it reaches the bottom left, or does it have limit switches?

If it’s making a grinding noise, try turning off ‘Auto-home on startup’ in your Device Settings, then restarting your laser. If it does have limit switches, it may not be clearing them after it homes, or they may not be wired correctly.

You could also be seeing an issue with your power supply that could be causing a communication dropout and Alarm 3 error. And you can’t move your laser at all, the stepper motors may not be powered.

The first couple of topics covered in this video may be helpful:

If you can share your GCode, that may also tell us more.

The laser is movable by hand until I hit PLAY, then it looks like it is fixing itself and you can’t move it by hand anymore.
Before after doing a job it went back to down left automatically and I could start another job.
The GCode is active in the system, but what can you do with it? Do I need to use it during my laserjobs?

If you’re moving your laser by hand before pressing start, it’s not going to report its position accurately. That in itself could cause an issue. If it feels fixed when you press start it’s because the steppers are engaged.

If I can look at your GCode there are some things I can see there that could be causing a problem.

Alarm 3 are more than likely caused by power issues/USB issues or some non disclosed error
You could diagnose step by step

power on machine, reach for laser module and unplug it (reducing therefore power load)
Run machine project, it wont engrave anything granted but will it run the project to the end?
If not, you have a power source issue

if it does, plug laser again, and cut your power in half . so if you was running at 50% do it at 25%. finishes?

If the above does not help, i would try a different usb cable/usb port

if that does not help, better to contact sculpfun support might be something in firmware needing tweaking

Here are some guides for setting up the Sculpfun lasers. Quick Start & Overview - Diode Laser Wiki Including mechanical setup (Guide to mechanical adjustments and maintenance - Diode Laser Wiki) and how to work with coordinate systems (Coordinate systems & workpiece alignment - Diode Laser Wiki) Maybe this helps in understanding.
The method Gil proposed seems reasonable, you could try that first.

Thank you all for helping!
New cable, same problem,
Tried to lower the speed, nothing…still won’t move.
Got cable out from laser…nothing
Got cable out from mover left/right (Y-axel?)…X-axel still won’t move…???

How can I go back to standard settings? Maybe I set something wrong???
Where can I find the normal settings how it’s suppose to be?

You can reset the firmware to default values using the command “$RST=*”. Check if the values look similiar to the ones mentioned here: Firmware Update & Settings - Diode Laser Wiki
Did you check the mechanics carefully and did the tilt test? Maybe the wheels or belts are too tight.

It has ran perfectly, that’s why I think it’s strange that it doesn’t run now. Closed it down normally every time.
I am going to try the $RST=* tomorrow, thanks for now again
Is there any telephone number to call for help?
