I’m a newbie. Lightburn finds my Ortur Lasermaster 2 Pro S2 but won’t connect.
The Laser panel indicates “Ready”. The Console displays “Waiting for connection …” twice, and then about a dozen "G0"s.
The Move panel is dead - won’t move the laser head.
However, Lasergrbl is able to operate the laser. I can move the head and turn focus on and off.
I’ve rebooted the PC and tried other USB ports, but it Lightburn still won’t connect.
How can I diagnose this problem?
things to check in order
a) isyour machine setup as a GRBL device
B) are you selecting the correct COM port
c) is lasergrbl closed, you cant have dual connectiosn to the same com port
I am also a newbie and had a similar problem just in Lightburn (I didn’t use the other program). I switched usb ports and got the same thing you did. The solution was going to Com on the Laser panel and switched ports and the Laser came to life. So gilaraujo’s second solution worked for me.
If you see the G0 lines, try to toggle the “enable DTR signal” setting in device settings. That usually helps if you can connect with LaserGRBL but not with LightBurn.
Marv had the answer: Although Lightburn found my laser, the port was wrong.
In the Laser panel, port selection was set to Auto.
I assumed that Lightburn picked the correct port because it had found the laser.
I changed it to COM3 and the Laser came to life. Woohoo!
Thanks everyone for your input!
