Laserpecker LX2 integration issues

Hello,

I bought a Laserpecker LX2 and must admit: nice equipment. A huge step forward from my Sculpfun S9 5,5W, which I optimized to the limits.
But there are a few downers with this LX2: the integration into Lightburn is very basic and I am facing some issues.

  1. z-axis / detect function / focus
There are two ways to set the distance between laser head and the peace to be engraved/cut out. The automatic one via macro “DETECT” and the manual one via measuring and entering the measured distance via console.
But: both are not working on my equipment. The measured value is not processed by the LX2, the z-value stays unchanged. If I enter the value into the console “DETECT = nn.n”, nothing changes.
Which means, I literally cannot use the LX2 with Lightburn.

  2. air assist
There is an air assist, this should be set on when starting the job and stopped afterwards. In best case, it can set the power automatically: high when cutting, low when engraving.
But again, the air assist is not controlled by Lightburn and I have to power on and off by myself.

  3. no camera
The LX2 has a cool camera which brings some functionality. But I cannot add the camera to Lightburn. Not via USB, network, preset.

I am hoping, that I am just not clever enough and did not find the right settings.
It would be great, if someone can help me to find out how to fix this issues or it the Lightburn-team can develop a deeper integration.

The software “LDS beta” delivered by Laserpacker is not my favorite (to be extremely polite) and for me a useless piece of software due to its heavy restrictions. Furthermore, I am used to Lightburn and I really appreciate the functionality of this software. It is a great product!

Best regards, Philipp

In LDS Beta draw one Line square 10mm side with Air off and another Line square 10mm side at different Z and Air on, then post here the GCode for us to have a look.
