My laser goes from home (front left) to the right rear when I am going to move the laser to where I want to start a job. This happens when going to frame, going to absolute cords, user origin, and using to set laser position key.
I did try to set home at the right rear as a better position for me so I think I have done something to alter the settings. It was working ok from new to start with. Any help would be appreciated.
What did you change to do this? A setting in Lightburn or did you write changes to the firmware of your machine?
Yes I typed in command G92 XO YO. As this was a suggestion on a YouTube site.
Try this. With the laser in the LF Home position enter that code again.
Ok will give that a go this evening.
HOME is where the limit switches are located. You must have switches on both ends of the travel to make this work. Just telling Lightburn “It is just over there” will not work.
Move the laser to where you want it to be out of the way, then click on the Set Finish Position button in the Move window. I also assigned a Macro button named Retract to do the same thing. The code would be something like “G0 X200 Y380”. I have 3 lasers and Lightburn remembers them all. Works like a charm.
I think I fixed that problem with your help thanks.
The other little problem is that when layering the tool trace lines are being burnt on the job, how do I stop it from doing that?
That fixed it. How do I stop the laser burning the tool trace lines when burning the job?
Are you talking about the rapid movement lines? Need a picture of the finished part…
Glad it is working.
